Eric Bjornlund is President and CEO of Democracy International (DI), which he cofounded in 2003. He has worked in support of democracy, human rights, peace, and the rule of law for 40 years. Eric has visited more than 75 countries and has lived and worked longer term in Egypt, Indonesia, Myanmar, Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), and Zambia. He has organized and led dozens of international election monitoring, technical assistance, and evaluation teams all over the world. Eric remains amazed at how much he learns when he visits a new place and is grateful for any opportunity to do so.
